Another little detour. Allan got excited as the sign ‘Nurburgring’ zipped past us. It is the fearsome Green Hell. It is exceedingly dangerous and the site of Niki Lauda’s accident in the 1976 German Grand Prix. “Let’s take a look at the Nurburgring. It’s on the way to Aulendorf and we need to stop for the evening”, said Allan. The Nurburgring is notorious. It pushes drivers to the limit of their cars and their talents. It no longer hosts a Grand Prix but available to anyone with the coin and the desire to cross its talent threshold.
But this time it was just a quiet and beautiful place to put down for a night before continuing down to Aulendorf.
